Good news for travelers this Eid! Pakistan Railways has rolled out a generous 20% discount on all train ticket fares for a limited time during the three days of Eid-ul-Azha. This exciting offer applies to all classes and trains across the country — a move that’s expected to ease the burden on passengers during one of the busiest travel seasons of the year.
The discount is valid for current bookings only and will not cover tickets for the Eid special trains. It will be available from June 6 to June 9, aligning with the government-declared Eid holidays. Whether you’re traveling economy or business class, this fare cut will apply to your standard train fare, making holiday reunions a little more affordable.
This initiative was introduced under the directives of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Federal Minister for Railways Hanif Abbasi, both aiming to support citizens with budget-friendly travel options this festive season. Alongside the discount, Pakistan Railways is also working hard to maintain smooth operations, ensuring timely departures, increased safety, and hassle-free journeys throughout the Eid rush.
To manage the expected spike in passengers, five special Eid trains have also been deployed. These trains are covering key routes including Karachi to Lahore, Quetta to Peshawar, and Karachi to Rawalpindi, helping ease congestion and accommodate the massive influx of holiday travelers.
Additionally, a new route between Lahore and Narowal is set to launch on June 15, providing even more connectivity options for passengers after Eid. The railways department has reported a strong financial performance, with revenue hitting Rs83 billion in the past four months — a sign of improved services and growing passenger trust.
Whether you’re heading home or planning a trip, this Eid is the perfect time to travel by train without burning a hole in your wallet.
